미국에 소재하고 있는 한국 지상사 및 금융기관의 대표단체인 미한국상공회의소(KOCHAM, Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the USA, Inc., 이하 코참)는 한인 동포사회 협력 방안으로 이번 여름방학을 맞아 미국 대학 및 대학원에 재학중인 한인 동포 학생들에게 ‘제 4차 섬머 인턴쉽 프로그램’을 실시하고자 합니다.
지난 2005년부터 실시되어 올해 네 번째를 맞이하는 이번 프로그램을 통해 동포 1.5세와 2세 학생들은 한국 기업을 이해하고 수업에서 배울 수 없는 값진 현장 실무경험을 얻게 될 것입니다.
선발된 학생들은 학년, 전공 및 특기사항을 충분히 검토, 뉴욕 및 뉴저지에 위치한 코참 회원 업체로 배치될 예정입니다.
세부사항:
- 모집인원: 00명
- 신청자격: 미국 내 대학 및 대학원 재학 동포 자녀(만 18세 이상)로써 미국 내 취업에 결격사유가 없는 자(영주권, 시민권자) 및 이중언어(한국어, 영어)에 능통한 학생
- 급여: 무급. 단, 학교 학점 이수 지원(기업체에 따라 인턴 보조금을 지급할 수 있음.) 특히 인턴 지원 학생은 인턴쉽 시작 전 재학 학교에서 인턴쉽이 학점으로 인정될 수 있다는 증명서 제출 요

- 신청기간: 2008년 5월 13일 ~ 26 일까지
- 제출서류: Application, Resume, 인턴쉽 학점 인정 확인서(필요한 경우)

· 신청서 교부 및 접수(5월 13일 ~ 5월 26일)
· 1차 오리엔테이션 및 면접: 서류 전형에 합격한 학생에 한해 오리엔테이션 참석
(시간 및 장소는 추후 개별적으로 연락)
· 인턴쉽 기간: 6월 초 ~ 8월 중순(학교 일정에 따라 다소 변동 가능)
- 인턴쉽 제공 업체: 뉴욕, 뉴저지 소재 한국 지상사 및 금융기관으로 인턴쉽 프로그램에 참여한 업체

2008 Summer Internship Program
The KOCHAM (Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the USA) now offers college/university students (over 18 years old) an unpaid but credit-bearing internship program for this summer, in which you can have an opportunity to explore Korean companies and gain valuable experiences.
Founded in June 1992, the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the USA, Inc. (KOCHAM) represents over 300 U.S.-based Korean business entities located throughout the United States.
If accepted, you will be placed to our member companies based on your major, specialty or KOCHAM members’ needs either in New York area or in New Jersey area.
Requirements:
· Undergraduate/graduate interns must be over 18 years and currently enrolled in a college or university.
(Must be eligible to work in USA – a citizenship holder or permanent resident)
· Bilingual in Korean and English is preferred.
· As an unpaid but credit-bearing internship, you must submit some paperwork showing eligibility to earn academic credits in your school (For example, Dean’s approval, etc.) – Some companies may provide a stipend for interns.
